An easy beginner project for those who want to try Tunisian Crochet (also called Afghan Stitch).
You will need a zipper, seven colors of yarn (leftover from other projects is ok), a tunisian hook (4.5 mm), needle and thread to sew, and some cute fabric for lining.

Begin with a chain slightly longer than the zipper (in my case, 35 ch). Comenzar con una cadeneta un poquito más larga que el cierre (en mi caso, 35 cad).- Work 4 rounds with the same color in basic or simple tunisian stitch. Trabajar 4 vueltas con el mismo color en punto tunecino básico.
- Change color and work 4 rounds. Cambiar de color y trabajar 4 vueltas.
- Keep on changing color every 4 rounds. The design will look like weaved with the characteristic vertical bars of Tunisian crochet. Seguir cambiando de color cada 4 vueltas. El diseño se parecerá al tejido en telar con las barras verticales características del punto tunecino.
- When you have the desired length for your pencil case, bind off. I repeated the design 3 times (21 fringes). Cuando se tenga el largo deseado para la cartuchera, cerrar la labor. Yo hice 3 repeticiones completas (21 franjas).
- Sew the closed zipper to the finished piece. It is better to block it before sewing. Coser el cierre cerrado a la pieza terminada. Es mejor plancharla antes de coserla.
- Sew the sides. Coser los lados.
- Make a bag with the measures of the pencil case with the lining fabric. Hacer una bolsa con las medidas de la cartuchera terminada con la tela de forro.
- Open the zipper and sew the lining on the inside with invisible stitches. Abrir el cierre y coser el forro por dentro con puntadas invisibles.
