Attic treasures - Tesoros del ático

Lately I have found 2 little treasures. One, the pieces of fabrics, threads, ribbons and laces that Mercedes gave me and that belonged to her husband´s grandmother. The other are the crochet lace and bobbin lace samples that aunt Ilda will let me scan for the blog and that belonged to her mother-in-law.

Últimamente encontré 2 pequeños tesoros. Uno, las piezas de telas, hilos, cintas y encajes que me dió Mercedes y que pertenecieron a la abuela de su marido. El otro son las muestras de encaje de bolillos y puntillas de crochet que la tía Ilda me va a dejar escanear para el blog y que eran de su suegra.

Amigurumi elephant- Elefante amigurumi

My nephew was very happy with my Amigurumi dolls and asked me for a blue elephant. I got a pattern here and this is the result. By the way that blog is great and her designs are lovely.

Mi sobrino estaba muy contento con mis muñecos Amigurumi y me pidió un elefante azul. Encontré un patrón acá y este es el resultado. Por cierto ese blog está muy bueno y los diseños hermosos.

Contest - Concurso

I decided to make a contest concerning my first free pattern below and because I´m happy my blog is receiving a lot of visitors (about 3000 in the first month). These are the rules:

• Download my "colourful sweater" pattern.
• Crochet your own (you can make as many changes as you wish).
• Send a picture of the finished model to be published in my blog.
• I will choose my favorite one, or maybe put a poll online, for the better one to be selected.
• I will send a prize to the winner.

Decidí hacer un concurso acerca de mi primer patrón gratis, ver abajo, y porque estoy contenta de que mi blog reciba un montón de visitas (casi 3000 el primer mes). Estas son las reglas:

• Descarga mi patrón "Sweater colorido".
• Tejete uno propio (podés hacerle tantos cambios como desees).

Colourful Sweater 2: Free pattern - Sweater colorido 2: patrón gratis.

As promised in a previous post, i did my best to write a pattern for this sweater. I hope it is clear enough. PS: Where it says "m" it means "motifs" and not "meters"! Sorry for the mistake. And, to knit the sleeve, i started from the wrist, crocheted till length desired without changes, and then increased/reduced the number of motifs to fit the shoulder part. (i sew the shoulders first).
I crocheted with a 2/2.5 mm hook, the thread is a generic brand thin bouclé.

Como prometí en un post anterior, hice mi mejor esfuerzo para escribir un patrón para este sweater. Espero que esté lo suficientemente claro. PD: donde dice "m" significa "motivos" y no "metros"! Perdón por el error! Y, para tejer la manga, empecé desde la muñeca , tejí hasta el largo deseado sin cambios, y luego disminuí/aumenté el número de motivos para encajar en la parte del hombro (primero cosí los hombros).
Está tejido con aguja 2/2,5 mm, el hilo es bouclé fino de marca genérica.
Gracias a Irka por convertir mi diagrama en un documento PDF!!!

Lurex cache-coeur

This week i have started knitting this cache-coeur that i saw on the TV show "Puntos y Puntadas" (Utilisima Satelital Channel). Utilisima Satelital is a cable TV channel devoted to all crafts, it airs in all LatinAmerica, and sometimes the projects are really easy to make. This show in particular features many things i like so I downloaded some patterns from their website. Just by coincidence i had bought that lurex thread about 2 years ago to knit a cache coeur and I knitted things that I didnt like and restarted several times. And then i found this model that was so similar to what I wanted. The only difference is that my thread is black with a silver metal thread.
Esta semana empecé a tejer este cache-coeur que ví en el programa de TV "Puntos y Puntadas" (Canal Utilísima Satelital). Utilísima Satelital es un canal de TV por cable que se dedica a todas las manualidades y sale al aire en toda Latinoamérica, y a veces los proyectos son realmente fáciles de realizar. Este show en particular presenta muchas cosas que me gustan así que bajé los patrones de su sitio web. Casualmente yo había comprado ese mismo hilo de lurex hace unos 2 años para tejerme un cache-coeur y tejí cosas que no me gustaron y recomencé varias veces. Y entonces encontré este modelo que es tan similar a lo que yo quería. La única diferencia es que mi hilo es negro, con el hilo metálico plateado.

Little green lace - Pequeño encaje verde

More bobbin lace. This is one of my first works in bobbin lace in 1999. It was extremely difficult to make, this is the actual size and needed 18 pairs!!! I had problems to finish it too, as you can see. This piece is now lost, or maybe i gave it to someone as a gift. The pattern was given to me by my bobbin lace teacher. Cadena sewing thread Nr 70.
Más encaje de bolillos. Este es uno de mis primeros trabajos en encaje de bolillos en 1999. Fue extremadamente difícil de hacer, este es el tamaño real, y necesitaba 18 pares!!!. También tuve problemas para cerrarlo, como se puede ver.Esta pieza ahora está perdida, o quizás se la di a alguien como regalo.El patrón me lo dió mi profesora de bolillos. Hilo de coser Cadena Nº 70.

My first work in cross stitch - Mi primer trabajo en punto cruz

This was my first cross stitch work back in 1995. It was a gift for my mom. I don´t really remember from where did i get the pattern, i suppose that from a book or magazine as usual.
Este fue mi primer trabajo de punto cruz allá por el 95. Fue un regalo para mi mamá. Realmente no recuerdo de dónde saqué el patrón, supongo que de un libro o revista como es usual.

Red spider handkerchief - Pañuelo con araña roja

This model i made it in 2003 (pattern from Bolillos Qué Fácil Nr 1). Quite quick project and looks wonderful. I gave it as a gift to Julia, the owner of Akira Hotel in Mar del Plata. A lovely place for vacations and Julia and her husband made us feel like home.
Este modelo lo hice en 2003 (patrón de Bolillos Qué Fácil Nº 1). Un proyecto bastante rápido y luce maravilloso. Se lo dí como regalo a Julia, la dueña del hotel Akira en Mar del Plata. Un lugar encantador para ir de vacaciones y Julia y su marido nos hicieron sentir como en casa.
