Alfombra de Totora FOTOTUTORIAL - T-Shirt Yarn Rug PHOTOTUTORIAL

Hace una semana terminé una alfombrita para el baño, usando totora (creo que en otros países la llaman trapillo o zpagetti) e hilo de algodón sobrante de otro proyecto. Me gusta la totora pero me resulta dura de tejer. 

A week ago I finished a bathroom rug using "totora" t-shirt yarn (I think it is called trapillo or zpagetti in other countries) and some cotton thread that I had from a previous project. I love totora but I find it hard to crochet with it.

Lo primero que hay que hacer es hacer una cadena del largo deseado con una aguja de crochet bastante gruesa. Del grosor depende el resultado final.

The first step is to make some chains until desired length, using a large crochet hook. The result will depend on the hook size.

Comenzar la vuelta haciendo una cadena para subir y tejiendo puntos bajos dejando la totora dentro de los puntos.

Start the row with a chain and make single crochets all along with the zpagetti inside them.

Al llegar al final de la vuelta, hacer 1 cad para subir, doblar la totora en U y continuar con los puntos bajos.

At the end of the road, ch 1 to proceed to next row, U-bend the zpagetti and continue with single crochets.

Repetir estos pasos hasta tener el tamaño deseado.

Repeat these steps until desired size.

La misma idea se puede usar en canastos, individuales, bolsos y todo lo que se hace con totora.

The same idea can be used in baskets, placemats, bags and anything you would do with zpagetti.

Also crocheted a cotton lace pullover but needs more blocking and a better picture before posting, the photo wasn´t very flattering. También hice al crochet un pullover de encaje en algodón pero necesita más planchado y una mejor imagen antes de postearlo, la foto que tengo no es muy halagadora.

Lace doily FREE PATTERN - Tapete de encaje PATRON GRATIS

Yesterday I put some pieces of lace, ribbons, some sequins and beads in an empty jam jar, to avoid losing them. Then I wanted to crochet a lace doily to decorate the jar and although I am sure I have dozens of models in books and magazines, couldn´t find them (went thru all my crochet books and magazines to be sure, but... nothing). So finally I created this lace doily while watching TV in bed. Not bad for a first try! Finished with a nice ribbon. Would be a nice and quick gift too and takes little material.

Ayer puse algunos trocitos de puntillas, cintas, algunas lentejuelas y mostacillas en un frasco vacío de mermelada para evitar perderlos. Entonces quise tejer un tapetito al crochet para decorar el frasco y aunque estoy segura de que tengo docenas de modelos en libros y revistas, no los pude encontrar (revisé todos mis libros y revistas de crochet, pero... nada). Así que al final creé este tapete de encaje mientras miraba TV en la cama. Nada mal para un primer intento! Lo terminé con una linda cinta. También sería un regalo lindo y rápido y lleva poco material.
